Also, if you’re planning to hire a calligrapher, look into the cost of about $2 to $8 per envelope. Be sure to account for it in your stationery budget.

Order invitations 4 to 5 months

Mail invitations 6 to 8 weeks, (destination or holiday weddings, mail invitations 10 to 12 weeks)

Include RSVP information on the bottom right corner of your invitation or on a separate enclosure card. The more time you give guests to reply, the more likely they are to forget. The deadline should be at least 1 week prior to your final head count. Be sure to remember that your final count will affect the number of centerpieces and other decor elements.
